We finally got in to see one of the local speech pathologists today. There's been a bit of a run-around with the insurance side of things. Anyhoo- she's really great.
She understands that somethimes kids just don't want to talk, or answer questions. Shane really liked her and was fairly talkative for her. But despite his general co-operation, we'll be going back for the next week or so to get the whole thing finished. She prefers to do observation evaluations (watch them play and interact) but the Coast Gaurd insurance insists on the official tests with numbers and percentages.
So IF Shane gets into the free preschool... and IF he really needs a bit more help... Insurance will have no excuse to refuse to pay for it.
She said, from the hour that she saw Shane... It might be the sensory perception in his mouth or maybe like Brett was- simply talking too fast. He doesn't seem to have his 's' at all though; Nor does he seem to understand his/her.
Oh well, it will all be just fine! More later! Next week I'll take a picture or two!

Hey everyone! Thanks for dropping a note on our blog! I'm excited to see what you have to say (and have a little round-about adult interaction!) Please don't put up any personal info- email that directly to me. :) Thanks so much!
