Today

So, I was sitting here thinking over the day for anything to share with all y'all, and wishing I had a camera that I could work one-handed.

Today was Primary Activity Day. We went tide pooling. Shane was not interested in anything living in the water. He was completely focused on what he seems to think is his life's mission: throwing every rock he can lift into the nearest body of water, or the nearest bush. So, he wandered off with a rock in each hand, following the other kids and Mr. Joel, our friend and the preisthood for the day. 10 minutes later, a shrieking arose with a familiar ring to it. Shane was sitting in one of the deeper puddles, refusing to let Joel help him out (which he did anyway). A not-so-quick hand off, Joel, took Austin (Joel will be a new dad this fall and is very excited, doesn't mind helping) and I took Shane off to empty his boots and get on his emergency church pants that were thankfully still in the car.

I know it sounds terrible, but seeing Shane in that puddle was the highlight of my day. Starting at 4 a.m. this morning, he has been fussing and crying over everything and nothing. Maybe a quick dip in some cold seawater will chill him out a bit!

In The Beginning

Well, I was updating myself on the family, reading all the blogs that I've missed and I thought to myself (again) that I really ought to do that. Not that our lives are terribly interesting, but still. So... there it is.

In the beginning, I looked and saw that it was good.
